Strength & Conditioning/Assistant Football Coach
The Savannah Country Day School seeks an experienced Strength & Conditioning/Assistant Football Coach join its learning community. This full-time position is instrumental in developing and implementing comprehensive strength training and conditioning programs for our student-athletes and the broader school community. The successful candidate will also serve as an Assistant Football Coach, with the potential to lead the Offense, as well as teaching Physical Education or other courses. The Strength & Conditioning/Assistant Football Coach works collaboratively with students, coaches, and staff to promote a culture of wellness and fitness within the school.

Typical duties include, but are not limited to:

Conducting fitness assessments for student-athletes to establish baseline fitness levels.
Creating and implement age-appropriate strength and conditioning programs that align with individual and team goals.
Providing guidance on proper exercise techniques, emphasizing safety and injury prevention.
Serving as an assistant football position coach.
Working closely with the Head Football Coach and other coaching staff to ensure alignment with team objectives.
Providing instruction and guidance to student-athletes on offensive techniques, plays, and positional responsibilities.
Monitoring and track the progress of student-athletes, adjusting programs as needed.
Collaborating with coaches and educators to integrate strength and conditioning principles into the overall student experience.
Providing guidance and mentorship to student-athletes, promoting academic success, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
Encouraging student participation in school sports.
Performing additional teaching and coaching duties, and/or other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Physical Education, or related field.
Three (3) or more years’ teaching or experience coaching football strongly desired.
Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) Certification preferred.
Strong knowledge of football tactics, strategies, player development, and strength and conditioning programs and techniques is required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively with students, parents, faculty and staff.
Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to reach their full potential is essential.
Commitment to upholding the values of sportsmanship, integrity, and teamwork is a must.
Valid Driver’s License and insurability required.
Attendance at evening and weekend functions is required.

Physical Demands:
This position involves routine physical activity, with regular bending/reaching, pushing/pulling, stooping, and crouching. Also requires intermittent sitting, standing, and walking in various settings. Occasional running or brief strenuous activity may be required to demonstrate or aid in student training. Work is typically performed in campus buildings and outdoors, where the employee is occasionally exposed to heat, cold, or inclement weather. The employee carries light to medium weight objects, up to 50 pounds.
