About Us 

The GACA stands for the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association. We are a major professional organization dedicated to supporting, developing, and recognizing high school and middle school athletic coaches and athletic directors across the state of Georgia.

We currently power a massive network of over 10,000 member coaches representing hundreds of public and private schools throughout the state.

Our mission is built entirely around our four core pillars:

G – Giving Back

We believe in investing heavily in the future of our communities and our youth.

• Student-Athlete Recognition: We host prestigious All-Star Showcase events for top student-athletes across multiple sports, celebrating their hard work and dedication.
• Legacy Scholarships: In partnership with organizations like Positive Athlete Georgia, we award annual "Legacy Award" College Scholarships to exceptional student-athletes who are the children or relatives of active Georgia coaches and athletic directors.

A – Advocacy

We stand as a protective shield and an active voice for the professionals leading our youth.

• Liability Insurance: One of the most critical benefits we offer our member coaches is $2 million in professional liability insurance coverage, protecting you while you are in the classroom, on the field or court, and running summer camps.
• Statewide Representation: We work closely with major state athletic and administrator associations (including the GHSA, GADA, and GASSP) to advocate for the safety, standards, and institutional support our coaches deserve.

C – Career Development

We provide the training, education, and professional tools needed to build successful athletic programs and careers.

• Annual Leadership Summit: We host educational events providing an official "GACA Coaching Endorsement" with a curriculum focused heavily on athletic leadership, administration, communication, HR, and sports management.
• Specialized Clinics: We regularly partner with professional organizations to offer advanced tactical training, such as hosting high school coaches' clinics alongside the Atlanta Falcons coaching staff at their official facilities.
• Statewide Networking & Job Boards: We provide a dedicated platform and a members-only GACA app that allows coaches to network statewide, post job openings, and browse athletic career listings.

A – Awards

We honor excellence, dedication, and the lasting impact our coaches leave on Georgia sports history.

• All-State Selections: We are responsible for selecting the official All-State teams across multiple divisions and sports, highlighting top talent statewide.
• The GACA Hall of Fame: We maintain a celebrated Hall of Fame and host our annual Hall of Fame Foundation Golf Tournament to honor legendary coaches who have made permanent impacts on Georgia high school athletics.
• Milestone Awards: We issue formal achievement plaques to recognize head coaches and assistant coaches who reach significant career win thresholds or secure region and state championships.

Essentially, we act as the primary backbone for the high school sports coaching community in Georgia—ensuring our coaches have the technical training, career opportunities, legal safety, and institutional recognition they need to lead young athletes effectively.
