Flowery Branch High School
Flowery Branch High School is seeking a dedicated, student athlete-centered Assistant Softball Coach to support the varsity and/or junior varsity softball program. The successful candidate will assist in developing a competitive program that emphasizes skill development, sportsmanship, academic accountability, and character building.
The assistant coach will work collaboratively with the Head Softball Coach and Athletic Department to promote excellence both on and off the field.
Responsibilities:
– Assist with planning and conducting practices, conditioning programs, and game preparation
– Provide position-specific instruction and skill development
– Support player development in alignment with program philosophy and GHSA standards
– Help supervise student-athletes during practices, games, travel, and team activities
– Promote academic success and monitor athlete eligibility
– Assist with equipment inventory, field preparation, and program organization
– Maintain positive communication with players, parents, staff, and administration
– Model professionalism, integrity, and sportsmanship at all times
– Support off-season workouts and youth program development as needed
Qualifications:
– Previous playing and/or coaching experience in softball preferred
– Knowledge of GHSA rules and regulations
– Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
– Must meet all Hall County Schools employment requirements
– CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
– Georgia teaching certificate preferred (not required for community candidates, per district guidelines)
Availability:
Seasonal (Fall Softball Season)
After-school practices and games
Occasional weekend tournaments and offseason conditioning sessions
