The Savannah Country Day School seeks a dedicated Head Football Coach join its learning community. This full-time position will include leading our student athletes to success both on and off the field, as well as teaching Physical Education or other courses. As a pivotal figure in our school community, the ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, a strong understanding of the game of football, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
Typical duties include, but are not limited to:

·        Developing and implementing comprehensive training programs that focus on skill development, strategy, and physical conditioning.

·        Planning and executing effective practice sessions that maximize player development and team cohesion.

·        Providing guidance and mentorship to student-athletes, promoting academic success, sportsmanship, and personal growth.

·        Collaborating with school administrators, parents, and community members to foster a supportive and inclusive team environment.

·        Representing the school and the football program with professionalism and integrity at all times.

·        Encouraging student participation in school sports.

Requirements:

·        Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

·        Three (3) or more years’ teaching or coaching experience strongly desired.

·        Strong knowledge of football strategy, techniques, and rules is required.

·        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively with students, parents, faculty and staff, as well as the general public.

·        Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to reach their full potential is essential.

·        Commitment to upholding the values of sportsmanship, integrity, and teamwork is a must.

·        Valid Driver’s License and insurability required.

·        Attendance at evening and weekend functions is required.

Physical Demands: 
This position involves routine physical activity, with regular bending/reaching, pushing/pulling, stooping, and crouching.  Also requires intermittent sitting, standing, and walking in various settings.  Occasional running or brief strenuous activity may be required to demonstrate or aid in student training.  Work is typically performed in campus buildings and outdoors, where the employee is occasionally exposed to heat, cold, or inclement weather.  The employee carries light to medium weight objects, up to 50 pounds.
