Physical Education Teacher & Coach (Multiple Vacancies)
The Savannah Country Day School seeks energetic individuals to serve as Physical Education Teacher & Coach for the 2025-2026
academic year. These full-time, ten (10) month positions will report to the Physical Education Coordinator. The ideal candidate will
possess an expert knowledge in a variety of sports, sporting tactics, and physical training programs. Must enjoy working with children
and young adults, have commitment to student development, and demonstrate strong leadership skills.
Typical duties include, but are not limited to:
ï‚· Teaching Physical Education classes to Lower and/or Middle School students, focusing on fundamental movement skills, fitness,
and sportsmanship.
ï‚· Assessing student progress and providing mentorship/guidance to support growth and skill development, as well as promoting
sportsmanship and academic success.
ï‚· Collaborating with other faculty, staff, and parents to support student success in the classroom.
ï‚· Performing coaching duties for a minimum of two (2) team sports.
ï‚· Serving as game administrator in the off coaching season.
 Planning and executing effective team practice sessions that maximize player development and team cohesion.
ï‚· Fostering relationships with parents, alumni, and community partners to enhance support for the athletics program.
ï‚· Encouraging student participation in school sports.
ï‚· Performing other duties as assigned by the Physical Education Coordinator/Associate Director of Athletics/Director of Athletics and
Physical Education.
Requirements:
 Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, Kinesiology, or related field.
 Three (3) or more years’ teaching or coaching experience desired. Experience teaching Physical Education classes in the K-12
environment strongly desired.
ï‚· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively with students, parents, faculty and staff.
ï‚· Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to reach their full potential is essential.
ï‚· Commitment to upholding the values of sportsmanship, integrity, and teamwork is a must.
 Valid Driver’s License and insurability required.
ï‚· Attendance at evening and weekend functions is required.

Physical Demands:
This position involves routine physical activity, with regular bending/reaching, pushing/pulling, stooping, and crouching. Also requires
intermittent sitting, standing, and walking in various settings. Occasional running or brief strenuous activity may be required to
demonstrate or aid in student training/instruction. Work is typically performed in campus buildings and outdoors, where the employee
is occasionally exposed to heat, cold, or inclement weather. The employee carries light to medium weight objects, up to 50 pounds.
