The GACA is saddened to share the news of Beverly Sanders Raines passing. Beverly started with the GACA in 1987 and served for 20+ years as the GACA Executive Assistant alongside Executive Director Ray Broadway. Beverly left an amazing legacy and touched so many lives to include her family, her community in Marietta, Pope, Sprayberry, and the GACA family of coaches as well as all the athletes and students that she coached and mentored. One description that helps describe Beverly Raines is the aware named after her and given out each year at the GACA Hall of Fame in Dalton Georgia.

Is presented to a person or persons who have contributed a supporting role in conjunction with the GACA ideas, for the betterment of athletes in his or her school, community, and the state of Georgia.

Beverly Sanders Raines, 83 of Marietta, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2023.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 10 at 1:00 in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church. A reception will follow the service in the reception hall to greet the family.
Beverly is survived by her loving husband Rupert; daughter, Alicia Naumik and husband Paul; son, Kevin and his wife Elaine; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Camp and her husband Jake, Morgan Robinson and her husband, Wes; great grand child, Ellis Robinson.
