Job Summary:
Windsor Academy is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Defensive Coordinator to lead and develop the defensive unit of our high school football program. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing defensive strategies, coaching players, and working collaboratively with the head coach and other staff members to build a competitive and disciplined team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement defensive game plans, schemes, and play-calling strategies.
- Analyze game film to assess team performance and scout opponents.
- Coach and mentor defensive position groups, ensuring player development and adherence to fundamentals.
- Conduct structured and engaging practices, focusing on defensive drills, technique, and conditioning.
- Collaborate with the head coach and other coaching staff to align team philosophy and goals.
- Teach sportsmanship, leadership, and teamwork, fostering a positive and disciplined team culture.
- Ensure all athletes comply with academic and athletic eligibility requirements.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration.
- Monitor and manage defensive staff and support personnel.
- Assist in recruiting and evaluating players for the program.
- Maintain knowledge of the latest defensive strategies, techniques, and trends in football.
Qualifications:
- Previous coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level preferred.
- Strong knowledge of defensive schemes, techniques, and strategies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to motivate and develop student-athletes.
- Commitment to upholding the values and mission of Windsor Academy.
- Must pass background check.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred
- Must be hired as a full time teacher in the areas of high school science/social studies.
