As the GACA, we are disheartened and deeply troubled by recent events and stand with our school communities in affirming our shared humanity. Our collective strength as a community is grounded in our racial, cultural, and ethnic diversity.
School activities offer the chance to reveal the best within each of us and on the opportunity to be human to each other. Over the past years, as the leader of The Georgia Athletic Coaches Association, we have always tried to create welcoming and inclusive environments at events but recognize the need to always try to do better.
As an Association we renew our commitment to act with love, purpose and understanding as we endeavor to disrupt racism and discrimination together.
To the GACA family:
We had our annual Executive Board meeting on June 1, 2020. I informed the
members that this would be my last year as Executive Director. Craig Davis
will be the new Executive Director beginning August 1, 2021.
It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to be able to represent the coaches
of the State of Georgia. My appreciation for all of the support begins
with Craig and Tracie York, but without the great teamwork from all
members we could not have been as successful. I look forward to this year and working to make the GACA bigger and better.

It has been brought to my attention that there are discussions by certain groups that would encourage school administrators to turn in coaches who are ejected from athletic contest to the Professional Standard Commission. Coaches please try to remember that your games are an extension of the school day, and many sets of eyes are fixed on your actions.
